Abstract—The term Artificial Intelligence of Things, or AIoT, describes how Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies are integrated with Internet of Things (IoT) devices and networks to improve their functioning and capabilities. IoT devices can be equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, such as machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing, to empower them to carry out intelligent operations and make decisions on their own. For instance, AI-enabled smart thermostats are able to recognize user preferences and modify temperature settings to maximize energy efficiency. Real-time analysis of the massive volumes of data produced by IoT devices by AI algorithms can yield insightful analysis and predictive analytics. This makes it possible for companies to anticipate equipment breakdowns, identify anomalies, and enhance operations through data-driven decision-making. Automation powered by AI can improve the management and control of IoT systems and devices. For example, AI-driven control systems can optimize traffic flow in smart cities, control energy usage in smart homes, and autonomously modify manufacturing processes based on sensor data. By streamlining interoperability, cutting latency, and maximizing network performance, Artificial Intelligence (AI) can enhance connectivity and communication amongst IoT devices. This guarantees dependable and effective data transfer, even in intricate IoT settings with a large number of networked devices. AI technology can improve IoT network security and privacy by quickly identifying and thwarting cybersecurity threats. Security solutions powered by AI are able to spot unusual activity, examine network traffic patterns, and stop illegal access to IoT devices and data. AI-driven edge computing allows for real-time data processing and analysis at the network edge, bringing intelligence closer to Internet of Things devices. This makes IoT systems more responsive and effective by lowering latency, bandwidth consumption, and reliance on cloud resources. By enabling the creation of intelligent, connected, and autonomous systems that can spur innovation and enhance quality of life, the combination of artificial intelligence and Internet of Things technologies holds immense potential to revolutionize a number of industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, transportation, agriculture, and smart cities. The primary objectives of this study are to provide a comprehensive review of the industry technologies for domain-centric, AIoT-based sustainable manufacturing. Considering this, this article offers a comprehensive examination of the key developments and opportunities in state-of-the-art AIoT-based techniques.
